Happy Saturday, y'all!
I am here at work chilling and writing with my Starbucks in hand. Drink of choice? Soy Vanilla Latte, please. Thanks to the wonderful world of caffeine, I am slowly but surely waking up. I am not a morning person... Okay, let me explain this. My body wakes me up at 6 o'clock on the dot every morning and I absolutely love getting things done in the early AM. I love experiencing the world slowly waking up every morning, the smell of coffee brewing in the background, the early Bible reading I get in, and just everything that comes with a new morning. However, I will warn you... If I do not have my cup of coffee, I am rude, cranky, and not talkative. There, now you know.
Husband hates that I wake up so early because all he wants to do is sleep in. My sleeping in consists of waking up at 6am, tossing and turning for a little while, and then pinning on Pinterest until 8am rolls around. If you sleep past 8am, YOU ARE LAZY. Not really, I am only kidding... No, but seriously.
Husband is/was in the Army. He had to wake up at 5am (or something like it) every morning for PT and all that lovely soldier stuff. The ONE thing he looked forward to when transferring to the National Guard (still Army, guys) was sleeping in. And then, he married me. God bless his soul for wanting to marry me... I do not think he was ready for this redheaded ball of craziness that I am.
Husband is off training (and waking up crazy early every morning) for a few months while I am here at home... TEXAS, baby. With that said, to keep me busy outside of work, I have decided to tackle many crafts that I have been dying to try.
First off, I am in the middle of creating some yarn wreaths! They will look something like these in the picture, but more "me". I am working on one for Momma, Mom (Husband's mom), and myself. I will post pictures once they are finished.
Secondly, I am going to teach myself to sew on my brand, spanking new sewing machine. That is correct... I am going to teach myself and I am going to OWN it. Maybe, not really, but I am just encouraging myself for the next few interesting weeks. Teaching yourself something new can be somewhat frustrating, do you agree?
Thirdly, once I have become comfortable with it, I will be making several things. To name a few: sewing machine cover, aprons, scarves, curtains, pillows, and of course tons of cute stuff for my Monkey (my niece, y'all.)
So, all you sewing masters... TEACH ME! Send me tips, tricks, and tutorials.
THANK GOD FOR PINTEREST!!! If you are not on this website, you need to be ASAP. Heck, I will even send you an invite if you need it. If it were not for this site, I might have run out of ideas of things to make!
Remember, you can follow me on Pinterest and on Twitter. Also, if you are a fellow iPhone addict, you can follow me on Instagram (thecelestenest).
Happy weekend!
PS- I am also thinking of starting an Etsy shop. Hmmm... Stay tuned!
