T-Shirt Tanks

Happy weekend!

Last weekend, I decided to take a couple of big t-shirts I had lying around and do something with them!  After scouting out Pinterest for stuff I had not tried before, I decided to make these easy workout tanks from them.  My t-shirts are Large, but Medium would have probably been better for me.  You want a t-shirt that is slightly loose on you... Mine were a bit too big, haha!

Anyway, let's do this!

T-Shirt Tanks

Step One

Grab a slightly loose t-shirt and some scissors.

Spread your t-shirt out on a table.  Try to get everything as even as possible (sleeves, neckline, etc.).

Step Two

Cut sleeves and neck like off.  Get as close to the seam as possible.

You should now have a sleeveless and neckless t-shirt.

Step Three

Once sleeves and neckline are removed, go back to the neckline.  This time, cut about 2-3 inches off.  I started thin and gradually thickened until I hit the middle of the neckline.  Then, I folded it (as seen in the picture) and cut the same on the other side using the first side as an outline almost.

Step Four

Once you have lowered the neckline, turn the shirts upside down to where the back is facing upward.  Cut inward about an inch or two to make the back side of the sleeves are thinner than the front (as seen in the picture).

Step Five

Next, grab a sleeve and measuring an inch wide, cut off t-shirt yarn (like that in the picture).

Grab back sleeves and bring toward middle tying them together with the t-shirt yarn.  Keep wrapping it around until you only have enough to tie a tight knot.

(Sorry, forgot to take a picture of this process, but you can see the tied back sleeves in the end picture.)

BAM!

You got yourself a recycled t-shirt tank.  All you college kids now know what to do with your t-shirts!

I wish I had more t-shirt to do this with!  Guess it is time to stock up on some or rip into Husband's old ones that he does not wear anymore... Hehehe!  Have fun creating!
